This lovely antique Victorian brooch was made representing the Suffragette movement, Circa 1900.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White colours which were chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking! Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
The brooch is adorned with a violet 0.85ct Amethyst and features beautiful, creamy Pearls and four green Tourmalines that compliments the brooch superbly.
Amethyst has been highly esteemed throughout the ages for its stunning beauty and legendary powers to stimulate, and soothe, the mind and emotions.
Pearls have a wonderful lustre with a rich creamy tone, they are lovely lustrous and natural.
The brooch is all set in 15ct Yellow Gold and complete with hallmarks.
